A lot of it is aimed at people who’ve never accomplished anything or have never tried to, and it’s easy to get bogged down in staying in that state of mind forever. If you have the skill and you work hard, you don’t need to go around bragging about your rejections. Read as much as you can, but don’t always assume the author of the advice has you or your chosen genre in mind.
